God: Our Help In Trial.

God: a series about our Lord meant to encourage.

Lost
OR, questions to ask.

When we are in despair
Do we turn to you in prayer?
When we are distressed
Do we trust you'll do what's best?
When we don't know where to turn
Do we come to you and learn?
When the fear of failure's heard
Do we find comfort in your word?
When there seems no where to look
Do we search for answers in your Book?
When we find we do not know,
To where do we turn and to what do we go?

A Bigger Picture, a Greater Purpose, the Worthiest Cause There is.

When all others have gone, You are still there for us.
When we are feeling small, You are aware of us.
And more than that,
You are in fact
The orchestrator of all life,
Though we're the cause of our constant strife.
You are deeply involved
In all the revolves
In this world.
And You also know me--
My heart You can see
Like a flag unfurled.

Oh. let it be Your banner!
And let me bear it in a manner
Worthy of You.
If I would see better days
Then I will walk in Your ways,
For they are righteous and true.
Let me
Always,
Only
follow after
You.

Grief

My shoulders shake,
Tears stick and slide,
I know soon something
Will be gone inside
My heart.

Caught in the wake
Of a receding tide-
But You still stick
Close by my side
With You
I cannot be
Torn
 Apart.

A Short Prayer

To speak to You
brings me relief;
with Your hand
You can stay grief.

Let me find my
comfort, my peace, my rest,
in Him who always
 knows what's best.

Thank You

To not give thanks!
't'would be a sin--
and when evil ranks
have beaten me in
and only pains's around me,
I can still give praise for salvation,
and feel Your grace surround me.

    1. That's interesting, because this is actually part of what I do for my devotions. So technically, that's just what you're looking at. :) I haven't been doing this lately, though. I need to start again: I found it so helpful to write like this!

  2. Oh, these are very very good, encouraging, and inspiring, Michaela!! It shows a real heart that you have for the Lord!

Some of my favorite lines were:

"Oh. let it be Your banner!
And let me bear it in a manner
    Worthy of You.
If I would see better days
Then I will walk in Your ways,
For they are righteous and true.
    Let me
    Always,
    Only
    follow after
    You."

    1. Thank you very much, Amber! :) The middle part of the line which you mentioned sprung from a memory verse that I was working on at the time which it was written.
"For 'whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.'" -1 Peter 3:10-11

  3. How do you get rhyming words so fast! Or do you puzzle and look on the iPad for good word like me? (I doubt it. You have a gift for poems!)
